Do you know who Klara Marie Faßbinder was? Why numerous celebrities came to demonstrate in the Hofgarten in the 1980s? What the University of Bonn has to do with peace? Or perhaps which square in Bonn is named after a Nobel Peace Prize laureate? In our city, there are many places of peace to discover and  significant historical figures to learn about, many of whom were committed to human rights. Nonetheless, most of these people, places, and connections remain unknown.

We invite you to join us in inaugurating the new Peace Trail through Bonn! We start in Beuel and walk from there as a guided tour from station to station towards the city center.

When? Sunday, 26 May 2024, 2 p.m.,
Where? Hiroshima-Memorial on the banks of the Rhine in Beuel, Rheinaustr. / corner of Friedrich-Breuer-Str.; near the "China ship".

In case of bad weather we will inform you on our website whether the event will be happening.

Entrance is free and the event will be held in English. Wear comfortable shoes.

The project was developed by the Netzwerk Friedenskooperative in cooperation with the Frauennetzwerk für Frieden e. V. and with financial support from the Foundation for International Dialogue of the Savings Bank in Bonn (Stiftung Internationale Begegnung der Sparkasse Bonn).

Hintergrundinfo: Das Projekt "Friedensweg Bonn" startete im Jahr 2023 mit Unterstützung der Bertha-von-Suttner-Stiftung. Im September 2023 wurde der Friedensweg Bonn mit einer Auftaktveranstaltung in deutscher Sprache eingeweiht. Die begleitende Broschüre steht auf der Projektseite "Friedensweg Bonn" zum Download und zur Bestellung als gedruckte Ausgabe zur Verfügung. 2024 wurde die Broschüre mit Unterstützung der Stiftung Internationale Begegnung der Sparkasse Bonn auf Englisch übersetzt. Die Broschüre wird im Anschluss an die englischsprachige Auftaktveranstaltung am 26. Mai 2024 veröffentlicht.
